The Match 2022: Everything You Need to Know

The last time we saw Tiger Woods tee it up was July 15th of this year when he missed the cut at The Open, but he will be back Saturday for The Match alongside Rory McIlroy as the superstar pair goes up against the formable duo of Jordan Spieth & Justin Thomas.


Here's everything that you need to know up Saturday's matchup.




The Place

Pelican Golf Club, Belleair, Florida


Originally designed by Donald Ross, Pelican Golf Club went through a re-design by Beau Wellington in 2017 to restore the course to "Golden Age" properties and re-create Ross's vision. The course has been home an LPGA event since 2020.


Augusta National Golf Club's Chairman, Fred Ridley is a member at Pelican, and was involved in many aspects of the club's restoration.



The Fomat

Two, two-man teams face off in a better ball competition over 12 holes.



The Teams

Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy vs. Jordan Spieth & Justin Thomas.



How to Watch

Live coverage will be on TNT at 6 p.m. ET Saturday, December 10th. Coverage will begin with a roundtable discussion with the four competitors hosted by Brian Anderson, and at 6:30 p.m. ET The Match will officially begin.



On The Call

Brian Anderson, Charles Barkley, Trevor Immelman, and Kathryn Tappen will be on the call for The Match.



Challenges

The Match will feature individual challenges designed to raise money for the players' charities.
